We are working on opening our brick and mortar (actually, it is pine and cedar) location at 184 Kingsley Road, Burnt Hills, NY 12027. It should be open around the middle of November. A lot of people have been asking what type of store Upstate Oddities is. Is it an antique shop? No, not really, but there will be a few antiques there. Is it a thrift store? The prices will be good, but there will be no clothes or garage sale rejects. Is it a junk shop? There will be some junk, but not very much. Is it a gift shop? It is not a stereotypical gift shop, but there will be a lot of things for your unusual friends.
After being asked these questions several times and not knowing exactly how to answer, I figured out a description of the shop.... It is anything that interests me, my wife, or my kids. If it interests us, we figure there is a good chance it will interest you too.
Why are we opening this store? There are 4 reasons: 1. We have way too much stuff. 2. It will keep me busy during the slow months at my music store (which is in the same building as Upstate Oddities). 3. We love going to auctions and sales. 4. We hope to be able to use some of the procedes to help worthy organizations.
